Croatian recipes

Croatian cuisine is also known as "the cuisine of regions, since every part of Croatia has its own culinary traditions and influences from neighboring countries. The cuisine of the coastal regions shows influences from Roman, Illyrian and Greek cuisine, Italian cuisine, and French cuisine, while inland influences on her by the Viennese and Austrian cuisine, Hungarian cuisine and Turkish cuisine.

Some popular Croatian dishes include:

- Juha orMahuna - A vegetable soup with green beans and carrots, lentils, onions and peas.

- Fish soup - fish stew with polenta (boiled cornmeal) served

- Gulas - a spicy stew, similar to Hungarian cuisine Gulyás (goulash).

- Slavonski Cobanac - lamb stew originally from Slavonia.

- Stew Istria (Croatia Istarska Jota) - A stew with bacon, pork ribs, beans, potatoes and cabbage, seasoned with garlic.

- Pašticada - A plate of boiled beef,originally from Dalmatia (and sometimes called "Dalmatian pasticada known). Served with gnocchi (dumplings) and noodles.

- Minced meat and fried vegetables, especially peppers - Sataras.

- Sarma - cabbage stuffed with ground (minced) pork and rice.

- Odrezak Zagrebacki - Originally from the Croatian capital of Zagreb, this dish is made from thin slices of chicken or veal stuffed with ham and cheese and then fried.

- Steamed vegetables, like - ÐuvecRatatouille.

- Spicy pork sausage, originally from Slavonia - Kulen.

- Cesnovka - A different kind of spicy sausage. Cesnovka added flavor of garlic and Turopolje comes from the region.

- Štrukli - a kind of ravioli, a native of Zagreb. Štrukli usually contains cheese or apple. In the northern parts of the country, are usually consumed during the Christmas season, with stewed dried fruit (apples, pears, plums, etc.).

- Palacinke -Crepes with sweet filling.

- Krafne - A type of donut (no hole though). Krafne are usually with chocolate, cream, cream or jelly (jam) filled.

- Rozata - a pudding, like pudding.

- Cupavci - A cake cookie, cut in squares and then covered with chocolate and coconut.

- Strudel: - The Croatian version of strudel filled with apples or cheese (Croatian Savijaca, Strudl) -.
