The holidays are just around the corner and the cards of well wishes and prosperity will soon be arriving in the mail. It isn't uncommon to be sighing at the thought of spending hours addressing envelopes and tweaking the holiday card list. In an effort to ease the strain of getting out your holiday cards, we've put together some cheerful tips:
Enlist help
Many computers are equipped with programs that will aid in your addressing woes, making the entire process automated. For example, Microsoft Word has two options; using the Mail Merge function, Word allows you to pull names and address from an Excel spreadsheet. For those a little less computer savvy, Word also offers an envelopes and labels tab under the Tools section. It's fairly easy to figure out and will save you hours in the end.

Order in advance, if possible
Many websites offer holiday cards, some even offer photo holiday cards. Ordering online is quick and easy and you're generally able to get your cards within 2 weeks. The nice part about ordering online is that the card is already personalized, that way you don't have to personally sign each and every one, saving much time and energy. So as the leaves of Autumn begin to fall and the thought of the approaching holidays crosses your mind, it may be a sign to get a head start on your holiday cards.... you will thank yourself later.

Make your own
If you don't have a computer, that's okay.... Make it a family affair and create your own. Design something personal using card stock from your local craft store or if you don't have the time or patience to make multiple cards, make one in particular and you can have them color copied at your local Kinkos or office supply store.

If you do have a computer, check to see if you have a graphics program such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Illustrator, etc. and you can design your own. The nice part here is that you can have them printed just like a regular photo at your local photo lab for just a few cents each.
Coupon Codes
If you plan to order online, be sure to do a search for holiday card coupon codes to see if there are any specials. If you're having a hard time making a decision on which website to use, finding a coupon code may help. Also, many sites will offer price breaks depending on the quantity you need to order.
